Do's
- DO Align Perfectly: Ensure the microphone receiver is precisely aligned with the acoustic guide hole on your external shell.
- DO Provide Dedicated Holes: Design a separate, independent sound-receiving hole for each individual microphone in the array.
- DO Maximize Distance: Keep the speaker cavity and the microphone PCBA as far apart as physically possible (e.g., one at the top of the device, one at the bottom).
- DO Optimize Angles: Position the speaker and microphone so they face different directions. A 90-degree or 180-degree orientation is highly recommended to minimize direct sound wave interference.
- DO Add External Protection: If your application requires waterproof and dustproof capabilities, add appropriate acoustic protective meshes above the sound-receiving holes on the outer shell.
Don'ts
- DON'T Leave Air Gaps: Never leave a gap between the microphone board and the inner shell. Absolute tightness is required to prevent hollow cavity reverberation.
- DON'T Share Acoustic Cavities: Never allow speaker vibrations to transfer to the microphone board. Absolute structural isolation between the speaker cavity and mic cavity is mandatory.
- DON'T Face the Same Way: Avoid facing the speaker and the microphone in the exact same direction, as this severely compromises the echo cancellation (AEC) performance.
- DON'T Stack Boards: Never stack multiple PCBAs directly on top of one another.
